The latest Disney on Ice is here this weekend only at the Allstate Arena! It's called "Dream Big" and features many of your favorite Disney characters. Also, can you believe it's haunted house season already?

Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America - Gurnee 
Fright Fest is now underway at Six Flags Great America! There are zombies and ghouls lurking in every corner with plenty of scary rides, haunted attractions and live spooky entertainment. Fright Fest runs weekends through October 31.

Statesville Haunted Prison - Crest Hill
This one's pretty creepy. It's been voted one of the best haunted attractions in the state, with good reason! Statesville Haunted Prison and City of the Dead has so many frightening elements, you just have to see for yourself! It's open Thursday through Sunday nights through October 31.

Bulb Sale - Morton Arboretum
For some non-scary seasonal fun, the Morton Arboretum's bulb sale opens this weekend and continues through October 31 or while supplies last.

Fall Fest - Lincoln Park Zoo
Fall Fest is back at Lincoln Park Zoo! This family-friendly celebration features a pumpkin patch, hay mountain, live entertainment and a corn maze! It's open weekends through October 29.

Chicago Book Expo - Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash
The sixth annual Chicago Book Expo is Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at Columbia College on South Wabash. More than 80 exhibitors will be featured, including Chicago-area publishers selling books, workshops and local authors. Admission is free.

Cat Awareness Weekend - Brookfield Zoo 
It's Cat Awareness Weekend at Brookfield Zoo - a purr-fect time to learn about lions, leopards, tigers and more! There will be special zoo chats and cat-themed activities Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Rembrandt - Steppenwolf Theatre 
On the theatre beat, "The Rembrandt" is now in production at the Steppenwolf Theatre. When a museum guard decides to touch a famous Rembrandt painting, a remarkable journey ensues! It runs through November 5.

Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Theatre at the Center, Munster 
"Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" is the latest production at the Theatre at the Center in Munster. The Tony Award-winning musical runs through October 15.

Apple Fest - Lincoln Square 
Lincoln Square is celebrating its 30th annual apple fest Saturday and Sunday at Lincoln and Lawrence! They'll have a variety of apples and apple treats from cider to doughnuts, as well as an apple pie bake-off. Live music and a kids zone will also be featured.

Fulton Market Harvest Fest - Fulton Market and Halsted 
The Fulton Market Harvest Fest combines Chicago's restaurants, craft beer, live music and cooking demonstrations, at Fulton Market and Halsted. It runs through Sunday.

Basement of the Dead - Aurora
On the haunted house beat, the basement of the dead in aurora, features some of the scariest actors, craziest scenes and set designs in a haunted attraction so scary it comes with a list of warnings! It runs through November 4.

Konows Corn Maze - Homer Glen 
It's fall festival time at Konows Corn Maze in Homer Glen! From finding the perfect pumpkin, to the rides and petting zoo - and of course the huge corn maze - there's family fun for kids of all ages!

Bacon and Beer Classic - Daley Plaza
The Bacon and Beer Classic gets underway in just a few hours at Daley Plaza. You can try more than 25 original bacon dishes and sample craft beers from more than 50 regional breweries!

Five Guys Named Moe - Court Theatre
On the theatre beat, the Court Theatre opens its season with the musical Five Guys Named Moe, a tribute to the hit songs of Louis Jordan. It runs through October 8.

Chicago International Latino Theatre Festival - National Museum of Mexican Art
And new to the theatre beat - the very first Chicago International Latino Theatre Festival! This month long fest brings international and local Latino works to Chicago with performances at the National Museum of Mexican Art, Steppenwolf and Victory Gardens to name a few.
