BIOGRAPHY

WENDY STARK PREY (Managing Director) management background is rooted in the multifaceted experience of producing theatre-both onstage and off.  During her years with Drury Lane Productions, she has guided many productions from the inception of an idea to a visually stunning and heart pounding theatrical experience.   As a theatre artist, her journey began in costume design, technology and management working for Shakespeare Theatre Company, Washington National Opera, Yale Repertory Theatre, Hartford Stage Company, Sarasota Opera, Black Hills Playhouse, St. Michael’s Playhouse, and Montana Repertory Theatre.  As an educator, she has taught design and technology courses at the University of Montana, The University of South Dakota, and Creighton University.  Wendy is proud to work with the amazing team of  artists, technicians and professionals at Drury Lane.

BIOGRAPHY

MATTHEW D. CARNEY (Associate Artistic Director and Chicago Casting) serves as the Associate Artistic Director and resident Casting Director for Drury Lane Theatre where he previously served as Company Manager for six seasons. Casting credits at Drury Lane include: Forever Plaid, An American in Paris, Mary Poppins, And Then There Were None, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, Mamma Mia!, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, South Pacific, Seussical, Joseph…Dreamcoat, 42nd Street, A Christmas Carol, Rock of Ages, The Gin Game, Saturday Night Fever, Crazy for You, and Deathtrap. He previously designed the costumes for Drury Lane’s production of The Gin Game. BFA in costume design from Wright State University.

BIOGRAPHY

ALAN PAUL (Director) is a director of theater and opera, and is currently the Associate Artistic Director of Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C.  His credits at Shakespeare Theatre Company include the world premiere of Lauren Gunderson’s Peter Pan and Wendy, The Comedy of Errors, Camelot, Romeo and Juliet, Kiss Me Kate, Man of La Mancha, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Winter’s Tale, Twelfth Night, and The Boys From Syracuse.  He recently directed the film of Patrick Page’s All The Devils Are Here for STC, which was a N.Y. Times Critic’s Pick.   Other theater credits include Spring Awakening at Round House Theatre, Cabaret at Olney Theatre Center, The Pajama Game at Arena Stage, Kiss Me Kate at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre, I Am My Own Wife at Signature Theatre, Silence! The Musical and The Rocky Horror Show at D.C.’s Studio Theatre, and Fully Committed at MetroStage.  Opera highlights include The Pirates of Penzance at Palm Beach Opera (starring Stephanie Blythe), Man of La Mancha at Portland Opera, the world premiere of Penny at Washington National Opera (Kennedy Center), and many contemporary operas for Urban Arias.  Alan has collaborated extensively with The National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, and with conductors Edward Gardner, Juraj Valcuha, and Gianadrea Noseda.  He has taught at the University of Maryland’s Opera Studio and the Washington National Opera’s Young Artist Program, and worked extensively on new play development at theaters all across the country.   Alan is the recipient of the Helen Hayes Award for Best Director, and has received four other nominations for Best Director. He is a graduate of Northwestern University.

DARREN LEE (Choreographer) Associate choreographer for the Broadway Revival of PACIFIC  OVERTURES (Roundabout/ Studio 54). In New York, he also choreographed AN IDEAL HUSBAND (Irish Rep), 24 HOUR MUSICALS (Orchard Project), HEADING EAST (Asia Society, starring BD Wong), THE REPORT, BRONX EXPRESS (Fringe Festival), ANDY WARHOL WAS RIGHT (NYMF), BRAIN. STORM., HIDDEN SKY (Prospect Theatre) and STEPHEN SONDHEIM’S 75th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION (New Amsterdam); as well as choreographing over 40 productions at major American regional theaters. SSDC Dance Break 2005, SSDC Callaway Committee. As a performer – Mr. Lee has also been featured in 11 Broadway shows.

ERIC SOUTHERN (Lighting Design) is an OBIE award winning designer for theater, opera, and dance. Chicago credits includes Pipeline (Victory Gardens); The Fever (MCA); Echo Mine (Harris Theater); Buyer and Cellar (New York, London, Chicago, LA, National Tour). Recent New York projects include The Great Leap, Tell Hector I Miss Him (Atlantic Theater); After The Blast, Ghostlight, Bull in a China Shop, The Harvest (Lincoln Center); Sell/Buy/Date (MTC); Indian Summer, Pocatello(Playwrights Horizons); Collected Stories (Carnegie Hall). Eric has also designed projects with The Guthrie, Kennedy Center, Geffen Playhouse, Baltimore Center Stage, KC Rep, Dallas Theater Center, BAM, 600 HIGHWMEN, Susan Marshall Dance Company, Virginia Opera, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Williamstown Theater Festival and Wooly Mammoth among others.  He is an assistant professor at Northwestern University and received his B.F.A. and M.F.A from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
