Chicago stage couple to be honored with Special Jeff Award

The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee will present the 2015 Equity Special Award to actors Paula Scrofano and John Reeger at the Jeff Awards ceremony, in recognition of their contributions to the Chicago theater scene over the past five decades.

Chicago theater's first couple met in 1969 as Northwestern University freshmen in a Drama as Literature class. They went on to raise two children and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Scrofano and Reeger have based their professional careers in Chicago since 1974. They have appeared together in over 40 productions, most occurring on Chicago stages including Theatre at the Center, Drury Lane Theatre, The Marriott Theatre, Court Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Northlight Theatre.

The long-time acting team has garnered numerous Jeff awards and nominations, including two Principal Actress wins for Scrofano and a Principal Actor award for Reeger.

The 47th Annual Jeff Awards ceremony will be held on Oct. 5th at Drury Lane Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.
