JOHANNA MCKENZIE MILLER (Director) most recently directed Kiss Me Kate at The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire. Previous directing credits include Junie B. Jones the Musical and Madagascar: a Musical Adventure for The Marriott Theatre’s TYA series, both New Faces Sing Broadway Now and New Faces Sing Broadway 1941 at Porchlight Music Theatre, and she made her directing debut with Shrew’d! (a world premier musical adaptation of Taming of the Shrew at First Folio Shakespeare.) Drury Lane audiences may remember her from Mary Poppins (Katie Nanna), and Young Frankenstein (Elizabeth). ANGELA WEBER MILLER (Scenic Design) Steel Magnolias is Angie’s Drury Lane Theater debut and she’s thrilled about this opportunity. Angie is an Artistic Associate at First Folio Theatre where she’s designed scenery for over forty productions including a recent adaption of Little Women. Other recent shows include Sophisticated Ladies and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at Porchlight Music Theatre, the last seven years of The Chicago Bar Association’s Bar Show, Spamalot at The Mercury Theatre, and the 2019 season at Michigan Shakespeare Festival, which included productions of King Lear, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Cyrano de Bergerac. Upcoming shows include Cinderella at Paramount Theatre and a new adaptation of an Agatha Christie mystery at First Folio Theatre. For several years Angie was a designer for corporate events, exhibits, and environments at Chicago Scenic Studios.
